About The Association

The Washington Student Association (WSA) is a student-led coalition that unites student governments from public universities, regional colleges, and community and technical colleges across Washington. Through this collective membership, our organization serves as a nonpartisan grassroots voice representing over 150,000 students statewide. The WSA strives to organize student voter registration and advocate directly in Olympia, aiming to achieve our members’ goals of financial aid expansion, basic needs access, and student success.

As the official nonpartisan body of representation for students attending Washington State’s public institutions of higher education, the WSA centers its mission on legislative advocacy.
We work alongside students, lawmakers, and higher education partners across the state to champion a more affordable, accessible, equitable, and inclusive system of higher education. By bridging legislative advocacy with on-campus organizing, our association empowers and engages the next generation of leaders.
